Want to improve your aim while cooling off? Water target practice is the perfect activity! This fun game combines skill-building with water play for a refreshing backyard activity.
Kids love the satisfaction of knocking down targets with nothing but water power. It’s challenging enough to stay interesting but easy enough for everyone to enjoy!

Setting Up Your Targets
Start by gathering items from around the house to use as targets. Empty plastic bottles, paper cups, or old toys make perfect targets when arranged on a fence, table, or lawn.
Set them up at varying heights and distances to create different levels of difficulty. Plastic cups can be stacked in a pyramid for an extra challenging target!
Getting SetUp
Fill super soakers, squirt bottles, or even cups for younger children. Make sure everyone has a way to aim water at the targets that work for their age and ability.
Then, the goal is simple: knock down as many targets as possible with streams of water!
Players take turns or compete simultaneously, depending on how many water players you have.
For solo play, count how many targets can be knocked down with a certain amount of water or within a time limit. This encourages improved aim with practice.
For group play, see who can knock down the most targets, or time how quickly each player can clear all the targets.
Creative Challenges
For added challenge, assign point values to different targets. Smaller or more distant targets can be worth more points to encourage precision.
Create moving targets by hanging items from tree branches or having an adult hold and move targets. This makes the game more exciting and realistic!
Draw bullseye patterns on poster board with washable markers. When hit with water, the colors run, creating a visual indicator of a successful aim.
